Australian Alps Walking Track
This is a 655 km walk following ridges and plains through some of the highest parts of Australia - more than ten peaks exceed 2,100 metres. The Australian Alps are the largest alpine area in the country, extending from Canberra and the Brindabella range, through the Snowy Mountains, and along the Great Dividing Range. You can walk the track in 10 weeks, but many choose to explore shorter sections such as the Jagungal Wilderness Area. Experience and maps required.
